In-line hot straining RS + GP

The RS + GP straining system is applied to existing mixing processes. The system is positioned in line downstream of one or two existing roll mill mixers. The RS single-part extruder continuously receives the mixture from the mixer and feeds the GP gear pump that filters and preforms the mixture into sheet or strips. In addition, the system can be equipped with an automatic filter changer, to reduce the time of changing screen packs.

The CTS + GP straining system can be applied to existing mixing processes. The system is positioned in line downstream from one or two existing roll mill mixers. The CTS continuously receives the mixture from the mixer and feeds the GP gear pump that strains and preforms the mixture into sheets or strips. The screws of the CTS unit moves away from the roll mill to facilitate cleaning operations. In addition, the system can be equipped with an automatic filter changer, to reduce the time of changing screen packs.

This system, called CTE + GP, consists of a CTE conical twin extruder with GP gear pump. It is positioned in place of the second roll mill mixer. The CTE that powers the gear pump works to homogenize and buffer the compound, allowing the upstream machine to work in a batch-by-batch mode and the downstream machine(s) to work continuously. In addition, the system can be equipped with automatic filter changer to reduce the time of changing screen packs

Off-line cold straining RS + GP

The RS + GP system fed by cold strips is used to:
-filter low viscosity compounds by preforming them into strips ready to be used in production processes.
-feed the line extruder directly with hot and screened compound.
The RS system consists of a hollow cylindrical body where a motorized roller and a transport screw push the compound into the GP gear pump. The mixture passes through the filter pack and is preformed. In addition, the system can be equipped with an automatic filter changer, to reduce the time of changing screen packs.

ART™ System cold straining for off-line unvulcanized rubber recovery

The collected unvulcanized rubber scrap is placed on a conveyor belt that takes it to the cutting unit. The cutting unit cuts the material into suitably sized pieces to feed a conical twin screw mixer. The mixer screws have a special design that guarantees a significant re-homogenization of the compound. This re-homogenization is extremely important for the final quality of the regenerated compound. A gear pump is placed at the head of the mixer and is used to preform the compound into strips ready to be used in production processes. The system can be configured with a filtering network to screen the regenerated compound online. The ART™ system is easily openable for cleaning operations.

ART™ System cold straining for off-line unvulcanized rubber recovery

The collected unvulcanized rubber scrap is placed on a conveyor belt that takes it to the cutting unit. To reduce the time taken to change screen packs, Colmec has designed Automatic Screen Changers that are hydraulically operated of various sizes. The Automatic Screen Changers are identified by the external diameter of the filter pack.

  • Automatic Screen Changers up to 220 mm with multiple interchangeable and removable filter plates. The plates enter the body of the filter changer one after the other;
  • Automatic Screen Changers from 220 mm to 500 mm with a single plate. The plate for changing the filter packs comes out of the body and changes the filter and then return to its home position.
